Welcome to Space Acres, a creative cultural sanctuary in the Catskill forests of New York established in 2012 by Matt Werden and Zarah Cabañas.

Over the past 12 years, Space Acres has served as a creative label and studio for projects involving music performance, music production, comedy, video art, poetry, nature, wellness, herbalism, and Filipino martial arts. We welcome co-conspirators from all walks of life who are working to create the world we can all believe in!

Modeling for We Should Do It All

Recently had the pleasure to model for We Should Do it All and their “Faces” collection! In collaboration with Design Within Reach, the team created a unique flooring collection that also functions as art pieces to adorn rooms, walls, and floors. Zarah spent close to a year creating the original visuals to the Blue Man Group 2022 World Tour. The video art designs reflected the inner world of the production’s first female character. Shot and created in the Catskill forests of New York, Zarah was thrilled to bring a little bit of her home, love of ferns and water inspired geometry to this synesthetic international production.

Space Acres Botanicals has been invited as a presenter to the 33rd American Herbalists Guild Symposium to share her year long video project Virtual Forest Bathing—a series of meditative forest walks created especially for the virtual forest bather in mind.

White Walled World is a video poem created as an anthem for ancient souls—an invitation to spontaneously remember. Official Selection at the International Poetry Film Festival 2023, Los Angeles and screened at Deep Water Literary Festival @ Ruffed Grouse Gallery 2023. Premiered in 2022 at the Primavera Barcelona Film Festival and Livingston Manor Film Festival.

Girl meets cake. Premiered at the Callicoon Theater in Callicoon New York as part of Elizabeth Ennis’s curated program Fantastical Films at the Callicoon Art Walk! After over 20 years living as an old film school relic, I’ve finally added an original music bed composed by yours truly and mixed by Matt Werden. Enjoy ;)
